Defense department grants
There are many federal agencies that have grant money for small businesses in Hawaii.
In this article we are going to look at the Department of Commerce and we are going to look at the Department of Defense to see if these agencies might have grant funding for your small Business.
First we will look at the Department of Commerce and see what exactly they provide grant funding for. The Department of Commerce has grant funding for small businesses that deal with economic development. Hawaii small businesses may also get grant money from them for International trade as well as technology.
If you are looking to start a business for national telecommunications or national oceanic and atmospheric industry they may also be able to assist you in grants. They have national sea and fisheries grant as well if this is the type of business that you are looking to start then you will want to talk to the Department of Commerce to see what requirements you will need to meet in order to get a grant from them.
The next federal agency that we are going to cover that may be able to assist in grant money for your small business in Hawaii the Department of Defense. The Department of Defense has recently given grant money to several businesses in Hawaii. We are going to look at what they were given grant money for to see if your business would also be eligible for these types of grants. One company received a grant to research a viable way to make energy from the differences with cold deep ocean water and warm surface water. Another company received grant funding to develop a training simulation for different agencies. Another company received funding for a device that will be able to tell how many people are in a room and where they are. Basically anything that would give us an advantage over a country we may be at war with would be a good way to try to get grant funding for. If you are starting business that would assist in this development you may want to look at the Department of defense for grant money.
