Federal grants in Hawaii
There are eleven federal government agencies that can assist in grant money for small businesses. These federal agencies are the Department of Agriculture, Department of Education, Department of Commerce, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Transportation, Environmental Protection Agency, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and the National Science Foundation.
In other Articles we have covered some of these agencies. In this article we are going to briefly cover a few more of them. We simply want to show the small businesses of Hawaii that there are options out there for grant money for them.
First in this article we are going to see what exactly what the Department of Homeland Security is giving grant money for to see if this will assist you with your small business. If you are a business that has a way to improve Homeland Security in their efforts to better the safety of this country you may want to see what grant possibilities that have at this time.
The Department of Transportation is pretty straight forward with what kind of business that you would need to be in order to look for a grant from them. Hawaii has the potential to be able to get grant money for many small businesses as always it just comes down to what type of business you are looking to start or what type of business you have. One thing you may want to look at with the Department of Transportation is the Office if Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization. You can find information this program at http://osdbuweb.dot.gov/about/customers.cfm#small this may be what you need to look at with your business. Other than that the Department of Transportation deals with well transportation. If you do have a small business in Hawaii that contributes to the transportation system you may want to see what type of grants are available for you.
The next agency that we will look at for possible grant funding for Hawaii is the Environmental Protection Agency. This particular agency will assist in grant funding for such things as water pollution prevention and wetland protection. Basically anything that will assist in the reduction of pollution or the conservation of the world environment. With Hawaii surrounded by water and lush environment it is not a stretch to see this type of business in the area.
